Prices have been going up all over Disney Parks and Resorts this week, with some of the most noticeable impacts being on Disneyland Resort theme park tickets, which increased by nearly 10% depending on the date, and food and beverage pricing across Walt Disney World.
Once your theme park tickets are purchased, you may want to look into adding Disney Genie+ or buying Individual Lightning Lanes in the new system that effectively replaced FastPass+ (and comes at an added fee.) Unfortunately, Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane prices have also increased, but by how much exactly Guests will not know until the day of their visit.

When Disney Genie+ first launched, Guests could opt into the service in advance of their trip, thereby knowing what the added cost would be and agreeing to it ahead of time. Earlier this year, the system changed to day-of purchasing only. Most Guests actually preferred this update, as even under the previous FastPass+ system many were not fans of pre-planning so much of their vacation in advance.
With this week’s update, however, new variable pricing is in place. This means that the purchase price for Disney Genie+ (and Individual Lightning Lane selections) can vary by date, and since the service is not available until the day of your visit, you no longer have advance notice as to how much it will cost.

Today’s pricing for Disney Genie+ is up to $22 per person for the use of the service. Genie+ was originally priced at $15 per person, per day, when it launched, and yesterday’s variable pricing brought it up to $20. These changes mean that if your family of four purchased Genie+ last week, it would have cost you $60, but today, October 15, 2022, it will cost you $88 (plus tax). With $25 being the assumed high point of Genie+ pricing, this difference certainly adds up, especially while paying for multiple members of your party.
