There are a lot of people who believe that Disney is a place just for kids. And while many rides and attractions are perfect for younger guests, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t a ton of fun things for adults to do as well. In fact, Walt Disney affectionately referred to the adults who visit Disneyland Resort without kids as “oldsters.”

Of course, when Walt Disney created Disneyland, he created a place that adults and children could enjoy together. He wanted families to be able to experience the magic of Disneyland together, not with the parents watching from the sidelines.

In 2017, a brand-new experience for adults and children came to Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort. The Disney Jr. Dance Party was a fun way for families to get up, dance, and interact with some of the characters from their favorite Disney Junior shows.

Over the years, the Disney Jr. Dance Party has featured characters from popular shows like Mickey and the Roadster RacersSofia the First, Doc McStuffins, The Lion Guard, Vampirina, and Fancy Nancy.

Over the years, the show has remained incredibly popular, with younger guests excited to be able to dance with some of their favorite characters, alongside their parents.

Here are some more details on the fun show, courtesy of the Disneyland Resort website:

Shake it and laugh yourself silly with Vampirina and Doc McStuffins. Dance along with DJ DeeJay and Finn Fiesta as they play songs from your favorite Disney Jr. shows and bubbles float through the air.

Even Mickey and Minnie from Mickey and the Roadster Racers are driving in from Hot Dog Hills to join the fun.

However, a recent peek at the Disneyland Resort calendar has fans worried that the show might be coming to an end.

According to the Disney Jr. Dance Party’s schedule, the show will have its last show on March 23. After that, the calendar runs through April 28, and it says that there are no showtimes available.

At this time, the website does not state that the show is closing for refurbishment or replacement. We do not know why there will be no shows for the foreseeable future.

Throughout the year, there are sometimes shows that temporarily replace the dance party. For example, during the Halloween season, the traditional Disney Jr. Dance Party was replaced with Mickey’s Trick & Treat Dance Party. The show featured iconic Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy sporting some great costumes and dancing to Halloween tunes, all while telling a spooky story.

Since Disney has not officially announced that the show is closing, we can only hope that it is temporary and that it will reopen as the summer crowds begin to make their way to The Happiest Place on Earth.

Inside the Magic will keep readers updated as we learn more about a potential reopening date.

Do you and your family love the Disney Jr. Dance Party at Disney California Adventure? Would you be sad to see it close, or should it be replaced with something new? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
