One Disney resort has launched a resort-wide merchandise sale just days after permanently closing one of its most recognizable retail locations.

The move comes amid continued changes across Disney’s global theme park portfolio, as The Walt Disney Company accelerates redevelopment efforts tied to its $60 billion investment in parks and experiences worldwide.

That investment has fueled new lands, refreshed hotels, and retail overhauls across Disney resorts — but it has also led to a growing list of closures as older offerings are phased out to make room for new concepts.

Over the past year, Disney parks have said goodbye to attractions including Muppet*Vision 3D and Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, “It’s Tough to Be a Bug!” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island at Magic Kingdom.

At Disneyland Paris, the latest change arrived over the weekend with the closure of the Disney Store in Disney Village.

Long considered one of the last remaining examples of the classic, character-heavy Disney Store format, the shop was located in Disney Village, the resort’s equivalent of Downtown Disney or Disney Springs.

The closure clears the way for a new retail concept, Disney Wonders, which is expected to modernize the shopping experience in the district.

Despite losing a shopping location, guests visiting Disneyland Paris in the coming weeks may find consolation in significantly reduced merchandise prices — at least temporarily.

Disneyland Paris Launches Winter Sales Program

Disneyland Paris will begin its winter sale today, aligning with France’s nationally regulated sales calendar, which allows retailers to offer steep discounts during two fixed periods each year.

Winter sales traditionally begin on the second Wednesday of January at 8 a.m., or the first Wednesday following January 12. Summer sales usually start on the last Wednesday of June, unless that date falls after June 28.

The structure applies across the country, and Disneyland Paris participates as part of the broader national program.

This year, the resort is offering early access to select shoppers. Guests holding a Disneyland Pass will be allowed into World of Disney one hour before general entry today.

Passholders may enter the store at 8 a.m. by showing their pass at the entrance. Non-passholders will be admitted from 9 a.m.

Discounted merchandise will not be limited to World of Disney. Retail locations inside both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park will also participate in the sale.

Past winter sales at Disneyland Paris have included significant markdowns on items such as Spirit Jerseys, mugs, hats, and hoodies, with discounts reaching as much as 70 percent in some cases.

Additional Passholder Perks Roll Out This Month

The winter sale forms part of the Disneyland Pass Adventure Rendez-Vous program, a series of limited-time offerings designed to maintain engagement ahead of the opening of Disney Adventure World.

Disney Adventure World — currently operating as Walt Disney Studios Park — is scheduled to debut its reimagined identity in March.

Among the confirmed offerings is a French-language movie marathon featuring Frozen (2013) and Frozen 2 (2019), set to take place at the Discoveryland Theater on January 10 and 11.

Passholders are also expected to receive invitations to preview World of Frozen ahead of its official opening on March 29, 2026.

Guests visiting this week may encounter unusually wintry conditions. France has experienced heavy snowfall, leaving parts of Disneyland Paris coated in snow.

Cast members were seen clearing walkways with small plows as attractions such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad were dusted white. Lake Disney partially froze, while World of Frozen received its first major snowfall after a dusting in November.
