We absolutely LOVE the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Walt Disney World Resort! But can you imagine riding it for 13 hours? Well, that’s exactly what one Disney Park Guest decided to do… all for a good cause.

“Yo-ho-yo-ho, a pirates life for me.” This tune can easily get stuck in a Disney Park Guest’s head when they catch a glimpse of the iconic Disney attraction, Pirates of the Caribbean, in the Adventureland portion of Magic Kingdom Park.

Guests set sail on a “swashbuckling voyage” as the boat ride takes travelers through the long-forgotten time and place when pirates and privateers ruled the seas, with Captain Jack Sparrow causing his usual mischief.

So, when one Disney fan was looking for the best way to raise money for the local Kissimmee, Florida Give Kids the World Village, he set out on a pirate voyage to show his support of the well-known charity that provides cost-free vacations for children with critical illnesses and their families.

Introducing – Steven Amos – the man that rode Pirates of the Caribbean for 13 hours to support Give Kids the World. Amos took to social media on August 6, 2022, to tweet about his fundraising endeavor – including hilariously placing himself into some fun theme park photo edits along the way.

On August 5, @stevenamos tweeted, “Tomorrow is the big and crazy day! I’ll be riding Pirates from park open to park close, all to benefit @GKTWVillage! Any level of donation is greatly appreciated!”

When @stevenamos arrived at Magic Kingdom Park on August 6, he hilariously tweeted, “Can’t believe they swapped their signage for my birthday today! I’m riding Pirates for 13 hours straight today to benefit @GKTWVillage.”

Every pirate adventure requires sustenance! @stevenamos tweets, “Time to feel awful!” with a Turkey Leg in hand:

@stevenamos cleverly posts a photoshop image of himself on the cannon shooting pirate ship during the ride noting, “Got off the boat and will be waving at guests for a while! All while being sure to share that donation link for Give Kids The World:

The Pirates of the Caribbean attraction broke down at some point during the day, so @stevenamos tweets, “Pirates is currently broken down so I decided to test my luck at the auction!” as he stands next to the controversial Pirate Redd:

So, how did Steven do with the 13 hours of Pirates of the Caribbean? 28 rides and $11,000 raised! @stevenamos tweets the wrap-up with, “Thank you to everyone who supported @GKTWVillage today! We were able to raise over $11,000! With a couple hour downtime, I was able to complete 28 rides (and one Small World!)”

Way to go, Steven! If you want to learn more about Give Kids the World Village and possibly donate to this great charity, check out all the details at GKTW.org.
