Disney Parks Releases New Pins You Can Only Get By Pin Trading!

The newest line of pin designs is only available to participating Guests at pin trading locations around the Disney Parks. Fans hoping to acquire the special collection series will have to engage in pin-trading activities on their next visit to a Disney theme park.

The Walt Disney Company has sold Disney pins to collectors since the beginning at the Disneyland Resort, and the practice carried over to each Disney Park and Resort worldwide. However, it wasn’t until the Disney Millenium Celebration in October of 1999 that Disney introduced the process of pin trading rather than purchasing at Disney Parks.

Today, Disney boasts an impressive selection of over 60,000 designs, with new updates added constantly to create more collectible series. Plus, pin trading and seller locations at each Park offer carrying cases, wearable pin lanyards, locking backs, mystery packs, and starter kits to help traders get their footing.

While some Guests trade once a trip for a fun souvenir or prioritize a favorite character or complete one series, other Guests devote entire vacations to amassing every pin they can get their hands on. Disney Pins even hosts their own convention and in-Park events annually.

What’s more, Disney Parks’ apps like “Play” even have integrated pin trading with mini-games and virtual features. The process is simple enough for any Guest to get into once they have their first pin.

First, easily locate a pin-trading location at an outdoor kiosk or within a Disney Parks store by looking for a themed pin board, or Cast Member Pin lanyard. Some Cast Members will even have signage advertising their trader status, and Guests can trade for any design they like so long as they offer up a pin the Cast Member does not already have.

Moreover, Disney Parks began offering their “Hidden Mickey pin” series, a Cast Member exclusive series featuring a metallic little Mickey Mouse which Guests could only add to their collection by finding them within the Parks. Since the 2020 pandemic lockdown, Disney has reintroduced the series as “Hidden Cast Character” pins, with two series of multiple design collections rolling out at pin trading locations for the 2022 year.

Pictured above is the latest series, which debuted at Disney Parks on December 14. Of course, you can see this year’s themes include character plane designs, Marvel Avengers “A” logos, Disney Rabbits as eggs, Star Wars heroes, Pixar’s Toy Story, and Fantasia suites!
