Hard news to hear today as we have learned Elizabeth II, the Queen of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms, has died peacefully at Balmoral Castle on the afternoon of September 8, 2022. She was 96 years old. Now, Disney has released a sweet tribute.

Known as “Britain’s beacon of stability,” the news has quickly spread across the globe, with Buckingham Palace announcing Queen’s death and Britain’s new monarch, King Charles III.

With The Royal Family posting this news of the Queen’s death on social media, @Disney_UK also took to social media to share an animated image of the Queen and Winnie the Pooh, along with, “Rest in peace, Your Majesty.” This post was quickly retweeted by Disney Parks.

The official statement from Buckingham Palace, “A Statement From His Majesty the King at the Time of the Queen’s Death,” is as follows:

The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family.

We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother. I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.

During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which The Queen was so widely held.

A stunning photo was captured at Windsor Castle and posted by @ScottGustin noting, “The Union flag is lowered on Windsor Castle as a rainbow covers the sky.” Check out the beautiful image below:

Our thoughts are with the Royal Family and all the Disney United Kingdom family and friends that are deeply saddened by this news. Queen Elizabeth’s service to her country will always be remembered worldwide.
