If there is one thing you can always expect from the Muppets, it is absolute, unadulterated chaos. Whether they are putting on a variety show, traveling across the country, or taking Manhattan, Kermit the Frog and his zany cast of characters always leave a trail of laughter and destruction in their wake. Now, that signature chaos has officially made its way to the Most Magical Place on Earth. In a brilliant digital release, the Walt Disney World Annual Passholders Instagram page debuted a series of spectacular new artworks featuring the Muppets invading iconic ride moments.

Swashbucklers and Sci-Fi Divas

The digital invasion begins in Adventureland with a furry, froggy spin on Pirates of the Caribbean. In the attraction’s classic tavern scene—where three pirate animatronics play a jaunty tune—the artwork hilariously swaps the original swashbucklers for Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, and Pepe the King Prawn in full pirate attire. Adding a perfect layer of Muppet humor, the howling pirate dog is replaced by Miss Piggy’s precious and pampered poodle, Foo Foo.

Over in Tomorrowland, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover gets a glamorous upgrade. As guests glide past the ride’s futuristic hair salon diorama, they no longer see the standard animatronic resident getting styled. Instead, they find Miss Piggy herself, demanding the galaxy’s absolute best beauty treatment and bringing her signature diva energy to the quiet, nostalgic ride.

Musical Mashups and Fantasyland Pandemonium

The Tomorrowland takeover doesn’t stop there. Inside Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, the galaxy’s favorite alien lounge singer, Sonny Eclipse, gets a legendary new bandmate. The artwork features Dr. Teeth, the groovy frontman of The Electric Mayhem, jamming right alongside Sonny at the Astro-Organ. It is a dream musical crossover that perfectly captures the wacky, upbeat spirit of both the Muppets and the classic quick-service dining location.

Finally, in Fantasyland, the serene and beloved boat ride “it’s a small world” descends into total madness. Gonzo the Great, Rizzo the Rat, and a chaotic flock of Muppet chickens and rats are depicted invading the attraction. The juxtaposition of Mary Blair’s charming, orderly aesthetic with Gonzo’s unpredictable, stunt-loving crew is pure comedy gold.

The Muppets’ Lasting Legacy

These stunning digital artworks represent Disney’s renewed commitment to integrating the Muppets into the broader mythology of the parks. With recent announcements regarding massive changes and new lands coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, fans have been eagerly watching for signs of the Muppets’ long-term future. By brilliantly mashing them up with untouchable attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean and the PeopleMover, Disney is proving that the Muppets are a versatile, evergreen property capable of bringing humor to any setting. While these crossovers are currently just for our smartphone screens, they are a wonderful reminder that the Muppets will always have a special place at Walt Disney World.
