@DisneyParks took to social media on Thursday, September 29, 2022, to share an “Update on Hurricane Ian.” The statement released reads:

“We are thinking of our neighbors across Florida. We will get through this together and will be there to help our Cast Members and community. As we keep safety in mind, our theme parks and other operating areas remain closed today while crews assess the impact of the storm and clear debris. Thank you to all of our Cast Members who continue to care for the thousands of Guests currently staying at our Disney Resort hotels.”

While Disney has not yet released news of closure on Friday, September 30, rumors are flurrying that the Park closure will be extended. Much like the message above, Disney will release an additional statement if they decide the need to extend the Parks’ closure.

Currently, Guests staying at the Disney Resort Hotels are being provided hurricane meal kits. The only footage of flooding within Walt Disney World at this moment is from Swan & Dolphin Hotel. Video of several surrounding areas, however, show the severity of the damage, along with a massive hole being spotted in one of Universal Orlando Resort’s attractions.
