Disney Releases the First Trailer for Upcoming Original Series, ‘Zootopia+’

From the upcoming themed land coming to Shanghai Disneyland, known as the City of Zootopia, and the recently announced expansion coming to Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom, Guests are gearing up to return to the world of Zootopia (2016).

For Guests who simply can’t wait until these new Zootopia-themed lands are built in Disney Parks to return to the whimsical world of the animated film, we have good news: Walt Disney Animation Studios’ upcoming series, Zootopia+ is coming to Disney+ very soon!

The upcoming series will take place in the same universe as the animated film. So far, we know that this limited series will consist of six episodes, each of which focuses on some familiar, furry faces in some very familiar situations.

Episode 1, “Hopp on Board,” revolves around Judy Hopps’s parents as they hurry after the train leaving Bunny Burrow to Zootopia to rescue their youngest daughter, who has secretly found her way onto the train.

Episode 2, “The Real Rodents of Little Rodentia,” focuses on the “fashion-forward arctic shrewFru Fru, who has recently become engaged. Fru Fru is ready to dive headfirst into wedding planning when her cousin, Tru Tru, arrives, prepared to outshine the bride.

Episode 4, “The Godfather of the Bride,” is about Mr. Big’s father-of-the-bride speech at Fru Fru’s wedding, delving into his past as a new immigrant to Zootopia.

Episode 5, “So You Think You Can Prance” consists of Zootopia Police Department dispatcher Clauhauser convincing Chief Bogo to audition for a dancing competition with the “ultimate prize:” dancing onstage with Gazelle, the biggest pop star in Zootopia.

Episodes 3 and 6 also include familiar faces, such as Duke Weaselton, a criminal weasel arrested by Judy Hopps, and Flash, a slow-moving sloth.

The limited series is directed by Josie Trinidad and Trent Correy, and is coming to Disney+ this Wednesday, November 9.
