Big news coming out of Walt Disney World Resort today as we have learned a fan-favorite dinner show will not be returning.

Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show was the perfect way to end a day while visiting Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The hula dancing, fire dancing, and tremendous feast will now be a thing of the past after being in operation for several years at the Disney Resort.

Walt Disney World hosted two dinner shows including Spirit of Aloha and Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. While it has been confirmed Spirit of Aloha will not return, we have yet to learn of Hoop-Dee-Doo’s fate.

@ScottGustin took to Twitter to confirm the news with, “Confirmed: Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show will not reopen. It’s permanently closed.”

The reasoning behind the closure? Disney Vacation Club has announced new villas are coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort which is projected to open in late 2024. Disney has noted that the new DVC addition will also pay homage to the Spirit of Aloha show.

Currently, the Spirit of Aloha landing page remains on the Walt Disney World Resort website describing the memorable Disney experience with:

“Celebrate the spirit of aloha with spellbinding dancers, drummers and a show-stopping fire-knife performer. Auntie Wini is hosting a fun-filled luau to say goodbye to one of the local girls who’s headed to the “mainland” for college—and you’re invited! In the open-air theater in Luau Cove, delight in enthralling traditions from Polynesia, including dances from Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, New Zealand and Hawaii.”

We will greatly miss the Polynesian luau along with the all-you-care-to-enjoy tropical feast which included favorites such as the Aloha pulled pork, Polynesian ribs, roasted chicken, seasonal vegetables, fresh-cut fruit, and a salad with ginger-lime dressing. The heavenly dessert, the Pineapple Guava Cake and Chocolate Cake was absolutely amazing and paired well with the complimentary beer and wine offering.

We’re so sad to see Auntie Wini and cousins go! Thank you for all the incredible Polynesian Resort memories Spirit of Aloha Cast Members.
