Even though Mickey Mouse has won our hearts, we can’t help but love all things Disney Villains! We’re thrilled to hear the news that Walt Disney World Resort is opening a new “Villains Lair” lounge next month.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, several attractions and experiences were closed. While most have reopened in one way or another, some experiences have yet to return. The Top of the World Lounge on top of Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is one of these experiences.
The Top of the World Lounge is a Disney Vacation Club Member perk that resides on the rooftop of Bay Lake Tower. It’s known as one of the best places to see the Magic Kingdom fireworks, with the California Grill just one tower away on top of the Contemporary Resort. With enticing beverages and appetizers, it’s a true VIP experience that DVC Members call home.
Now, Disney Vacation Club has announced Top of the World Lounge is being refurbished and is to be reopened as “Top of the World Lounge – A Villains Lair. The “lair” is scheduled to open to DVC member and their Guests on July 11, 2022.
If you’re looking to kick up your Villains Lair experience, the lounge will also hold a special Membership Magic ticketed event called “Bound to be Bad” Fireworks Party. This event will take place from July 8 through July 10, 2022, prior to the refurbished lounge’s official reopening.
According to Orlando Park News: “Members will revel in the darker side of their favorite Disney stories during a food-and-drink-filled fireworks party inside the newly refreshed lounge. Hosted by villain super-fans deviously decked out in their “Disney-bounding” best, this Membership Magic event includes a sinister spread of ominous appetizers, an open bar of cunningly crafted cocktails, and a raven’s-eye view of the “Disney Enchantment” nighttime spectacular at Magic Kingdom Park.”
Want to experience the “Bound to be Bad” Fireworks Party? You’ll need to be an eligible Disney Vacation Club Member and stay at one of Walt Disney World’s Resort Hotels. Guests staying during July 8 – 10 will receive further details and an invite to join in on the fun.
When the Villains Lair opens on July 11 to all Disney Vacation Members and their Guests, digital Membership Cards will be needed from within the My Disney Experience App to enter the lounge. The Villains Lair will be open nightly from 6 pm to midnight unless otherwise noted.
