Visiting Disney World can be a trip of a lifetime. Whether it’s your first adventure to “The Most Magical Place On Earth” or your 100th, it’s always a magical experience. Disney World offers four Parks, which can get quite crowded during certain times of the year. Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios are four completely different experiences, making any Guest want to attend all four while staying.

Though the Parks have busy seasons, they also have times when it can feel like a breeze getting on your favorite attraction. Busy or not, Disney has come up with some ways to combat the process of visiting a Disney Park. Even if you are not a newbie, all the planning can be overwhelming. Disney offers the My Disney Experience App, a useful tool for finding ride times, booking reservations, and managing your overall stay.

While your Park reservation is already in place, Guests can log on early before visiting the Parks to purchase Genie+ services. Genie+ allows Guests to purchase add-ons to their tickets for a quicker way to get on rides with reserved time slots.

Guests took to Reddit and social media platforms like X to share their frustration and questions. Scott Gustin added to X the app was having “major issues” yesterday morning. Additionally, Disney added an in-app message to alert Guests that it was not just their phone but everyone’s.

By 10:07 a.m., Gustin posted, “Update: The Genie+ outage from earlier this morning has been resolved.” Though it was fixed by mid-morning, many Guests plan their down prior to the Park opening with Genie+ and Lightning Lane. Additionally, this means that many Guests were not able to make reservations for their day at the Park, creating a day likely full of wait times for attractions.

Today is Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples’ Day; the Parks are expected to have a higher crowd due to schools being off. As Disney Dining detailed, “With these features not being available, many Guests started what was supposed to be a magical day frustrated.” Even with the app errors, we hope that Guests were able to pivot and adjust their frustration and still enjoy a fun day at the Parks.
