Park Hours Extended Across Walt Disney World This August

Visiting Walt Disney World this August? You will be excited to learn that hours have officially been extended across all four Walt Disney World theme parks for late this summer.

While Park Hours are typically indicative of expected crowd levels, especially since Disney launched the Park Pass Reservation system, with so much going on this time of year the additional time available to spend in the Parks will surely help Guests planning upcoming visits.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party begins in August (and runs through Halloween, October 31, 2022) and the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is already underway, so extended Park hours will come in handy when planning a trip around this season’s special events.

Let’s take a look at the newly extended hours for each park.

Hours for the Magic Kingdom now vary throughout the month due to new earlier opening times and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary taking place during select evenings. Multiple dates throughout the month have moved to 8:00 a.m. openings, including August 12, 16, 19, 23, and 26, 2022 to accommodate earlier closures at 6:00 p.m. due to the Halloween event.

If you have tickets for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, be sure to note the hours of the event vs. when you can arrive. The event officially runs 7:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m., but Guests with party tickets are able to enter this Disney Park as early as 4:00 p.m. We recommend arriving early so you have extra time to spend in the Park.

Evening hours at the Magic Kingdom have been pushed back to 11:00 p.m. to give Guests extra time to spend in the Park outside of party dates on August 13, 14, 15, 17, 20, 21, 22, 25, and 27, 2022.

Both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios have adjusted Park hours to 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. through August 27, 2022. After August 27, the both Disney Parks will be open 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. for the rest of the month.

During the same time frame, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will continue to open at 8:00 a.m. as originally listed on Disney’s official website and the My Disney Experience app, but the Park will stay open until 8:00 p.m. From August 27, the Park will return to its 7:00 p.m. closure.
