NEW Changes Revealed for Housekeeping at the Walt Disney World Resort

If you have vacationed to Walt Disney World since the theme parks and Resorts reopened in 2020, you are likely aware of several changes that had been made following the pandemic. Many of the most noticeable changes took place at Disney Resorts, where housekeeping services had been limited, largely due to staffing challenges.

While Disney had previously announced that full daily housekeeping services would return to select Disney Resorts, we had been patiently waiting to hear more about the remaining Resorts on property, until now.

The Disney Parks Blog just shared the news that full daily (or every other day) housekeeping services will be back at all Disney Resorts by the end of this month. This Resort amenity has been unavailable to the majority of Guests at Walt Disney World since the beginning of 2020, so it is surely exciting news to have it back. Disney notes:

These full cleanings include everything you’d expect – from replacing towels and amenities to cleaning the bathrooms, making the beds, emptying trash and recycling, tidying the room and vacuuming.

Along with the return of full housekeeping services, Disney shared some additional details of how Cast Members can create special magical memories once again by posing Guests’ plushes and other special touches in hotel rooms.

The update from the Resort also shared some initial details of newly refurbished rooms at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn that Guests will be able to see in the next couple of weeks. The reimagined Guest rooms at this beloved Disney Deluxe Resort will now feature artwork with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and other favorite characters at various locations around the EPCOT Area Resort.

If you do still prefer to forgo housekeeping services, doing so is always an option by hanging the placard on your door that comes inside your room. In this case, or if you visit Walt Disney World before full housekeeping services return, you can always stop by or contact the front desk for anything you need, like additional towels or trash pickup.

As always, we will be back with additional updates on housekeeping at Walt Disney World as new information becomes available here on Disney Tips.
