The Secret Way to Score a Free Disney Park Ticket While Job Hunting

The Walt Disney World Resort, like most other companies, continues to reopen from the COVID-19 pandemic. One part of this reopening is regaining adequate staffing across Disney Parks and Resorts, which continues to be a challenge for Disney and the tourism and hospitality industry as a whole.

In addition to sign-on bonuses and job fairs as ways of enticing potential Cast Members to find an easy way to apply, Disney is launching a new incentive that will come with the chance to explore a Disney Park, free of charge, perhaps without even being offered or accepting a position.

While Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park has remained closed, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is still open for the season and is in need of additional Cast Members to keep the Park operational for Guests. As such, Disney is hosting another job fair on September 15, 2022, with hopes of finding more Cast Members to staff positions that are still in need of extra help to operate efficiently.

The latest job fair is specifically geared toward finding Cast Members to work in custodial, culinary, quick-service good and beverage, and lifeguard positions, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available. As with other positions within the Walt Disney Company, eligible Cast Members would be able to take advantage of a host of special benefits, including full tuition assistance through Disney’s Aspire program, and complimentary theme park admission (subject to blackout dates.)

Specifically for applicants attending the upcoming job fair, Disney is also offering complimentary Park tickets to Typhoon Lagoon. The official details are listed in the job description on Disney’s career site, which notes that only applicants who physically attend the job fair are eligible to receive the free tickets:

*Applicants who attend the event at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park on 9/15/22 will receive one complimentary water park ticket while supplies last. To be eligible for a complimentary water park ticket, potential candidates must complete an online application, before or during the event, for an hourly role with The Walt Disney World Resort at www.waltdisneyworld.jobs AND attend the event on 9/15/22 at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park from 5:30-8:30pm. Disputes concerning eligibility to a complimentary water park ticket shall be resolved by Walt Disney World Recruitment in its sole and absolute discretion. The incentives offered herein are subject to change at any time, with or without notice. Applicants who do not attend the event will not be eligible for one complimentary water park ticket.

Since access to Disney Parks can be subject to blackout dates, a free ticket after applying for a position could be a welcome benefit to a future Disney Cast Member. Still, Disney has remained short-staffed even after offering sign-on bonuses that surely amount to more than a day’s worth of admission to Typhoon Lagoon, so it will be interesting to see if this incentive helps.

It is also worth noting that since Blizzard Beach is still closed with no reopening date announced so far, the new Cast Members hired for these positions could go right into training to move to Blizzard Beach when it reopens. The 2022 D23 Expo is currently underway, and it is possible that Disney will share an update on Blizzard Beach during the Parks panel which is scheduled for tomorrow.

We will continue to monitor updates out of both of Disney’s water parks, and will be back with news from D23 here on DisneyTips. In the meantime, best of luck applying to be a Cast Member, and enjoy your day at Typhoon Lagoon!
