We’ve all been waiting anxiously for the world to get back to normal.

The COVID-19 pandemic changed so many things in our everyday lives. From social distancing and quarantining to face masks and travel policies, health and safety regulations altered our Disney Park experience.

The removal of the indoor locations face mask rule at Disney’s theme parks last month led to a sense of normalcy returning to Disneyland, Disney’s California Adventure, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

And now, we have another face mask rule change that many Guests will celebrate!

During the pandemic, Disney followed all federal mask requirements and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) face-covering guidelines.

Back on February 17, Disney made a dramatic change to its indoor locations face mask policy, following Universal Orlando’s sudden face mask rule change back on February 11. It meant the “new normal” we’d all been experiencing at the Parks the last couple of years changed. Disney Guests were once again able to properly smell the famous scents on EPCOT’s Soarin’ attraction and the beloved Disney water smell on Pirates of the Caribbean.

Now, Disney has altered another face mask policy for one of its transportation options – the Disney Skyliner.

Previously, Guests utilizing the Skyliner were required to wear a face-covering while inside a gondola, but now, Disney has changed the policy.

It is now optional for Guests who are fully vaccinated to wear a face mask while boarding the Disney Skyliner. Those who are not fully vaccinated must still wear a correct face covering while aboard this mode of Disney World Resort transportation.

Additionally, masks are still required for those boarding a Disney bus or Monorail, despite vaccination status, as seen in a screenshot from Disney’s COVID-19 policy below:

While visiting Walt Disney World, Guests have the option to take a Disney World bus, boat, Monorail, or Skyliner to get from their destination a Disney theme park, Disney Springs, or their Disney Resort Hotel.

Disney’s Skyliner is the newest mode of transportation, which debuted at Walt Disney World in September 2019.

Disney World Guests can board Disney’s Skyliner — a complementary mode of transportation — and glide past one-of-a-kind views of waterways, woodlands, and two Walt Disney World theme parks — Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.

The new Skyliner transposition is in constant motion, which means Guests arrive at their destination within minutes! Relax along the way, take in the views, and you will be there before you know it.

Based on guidance from health authorities and the CDC, neck gaiters, open-chin, bandanas, and a face covering containing valves, mesh material or holes of any kind are not acceptable face coverings at the Walt Disney World Resort.
