Visiting Walt Disney World This Fall? Make Your Park Reservations ASAP!

Ready for your next Walt Disney World vacation?

If you are planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort this fall (or any time in the near future) one of the most important parts of your planning will be making reservations to visit Disney Parks.

Disney Parks were off to a slow fall, with reports from Guests who visited since the back-to-school season supporting the low crowds around the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Still, weekends at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival remain steady (though this is a popular time for locals to visit the Park) and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has already sold out of remaining party dates for the first time ever.

With all of this in mind, we took a look at the current availability on the Park Pass Reservation calendar. According to open reservations now available at Disney Parks, the low crowds might be starting to let up…

The remainder of September is largely still available for Guests to book reservations, save for the Magic Kingdom which is at capacity for September 19 and 26, 2022. When we look at October, however, we can see the week following Columbus/Indigenous Peoples Day is starting to fill up.

Only one Park is sold out for the remainder of that week so far, and that Park is Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The first Parks to fill up are typically the Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios, so there is no real surprise there that Guests would be planning vacations around the holiday Monday.

Looking ahead to November and December, availability is still wide open across all four Disney Parks, but we still want to share a word of caution with our readers. The Parks are certainly still experiencing pent-up demand due to the pandemic, and while last weekend’s D23 Expo did share lots of news for the Parks, we still have some offerings on the table with no opening dates (including Fantasmic).

Assuming Fantasmic and perhaps other offerings like the Disney Dining Plan or Annual Passes return by the end of the year, coinciding with holiday crowds and the likely sellout of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (given how Halloween went), November and December could be quite busy.

Our advice? Check for available Disney Park Pass Reservations before you purchase your tickets, and make those reservations as soon as you are able to. Best of luck with your planning, and have a magical time!
