Disney Tips Your Guide To A Great Disney Vacation
In a bizarre and unsettling turn of events, one of the Magic Kingdom‘s most beloved attractions, the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, had to shut down after a guest caused a biohazard inside the ride. The century-old ride was temporarily closed as Walt Disney World Resort cast members worked to clean up the poop mess left behind.
The Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, a fixture in Fantasyland, was built in 1918. Before finding a permanent home at Walt Disney World Resort in 1971, the attraction entertained families in Michigan and New Jersey. Unfortunately, more than a century of family fun recently stopped when a Walt Disney World Resort guest pooped on the decades-old Magic Kingdom attraction.

Disney cast members quickly evacuated guests after discovering the fecal matter. In a video shared by Instagram users @cysticfit and @onlyinfloridaa, Disney cast members informed families that the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel would be shutting down with no set reopening time.

“Attention, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, we apologize for the inconvenience,” a cast member said over the loudspeaker. “Due to technical difficulties, the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel is closing temporarily. At this time, we are unable to present a reopening time, but we hope that you will visit us later. If you would like to wait in the line, you are more than welcome to do so, but we will not be running.”
As families stood by, unsure of when the ride would reopen, one of the Instagram users captured the disturbing image of what appeared to be human feces on the carrousel floor.

It’s unclear exactly how long it took Disney‘s custodial team to sanitize the area thoroughly, but the ride eventually reopened and returned to regular operation. Unfortunately, the incident at Prince Charming Regal Carrousel was not the first of its kind.
This latest shutdown adds to a string of unusual fecal-related shutdowns at the Disney parks, including previous reports of similar issues affecting attractions such as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure Park. Guests have also reported issues with poop contamination in their Walt Disney World Resort hotel rooms.
