Returning Home From These Disney Parks Just Got Easier!

Arriving to and departing from any Disney Park can be a lengthy process in itself, especially in the case of the Magic Kingdom, which requires Guests to park then board a monorail, ferry boat, or sometimes bus to arrive at the entrance.

This design was intended to create a more immersive experience for Guests visiting the Magic Kingdom, as Disneyland Park whose parking lot is right onsite feels a bit too close to the “real world.” Whichever Park you drive to, however, there is always the issue of navigating Disney’s massive parking lots, where it can be all-too-easy to lose track of where exactly you left your vehicle.

Guests at the Walt Disney World Resort have been able to take advantage of a car locator feature in the My Disney Experience app, and now, we have some exciting news for Guests on the West Coast! According to theme park reporter Scott Gustin, the car locator tool will make its debut at the Disneyland Resort later this month.

The tool will help Guests find their car quickly and easily when they exit both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure by noting where they parked within the Mickey & Friends parking structure, Pixar Pals parking structure, Toy Story parking area and Simba parking lot.

Until the tool launches, or for Guests visiting the Park without using the app (which could be quite the challenge nowadays) we always recommend jotting down or taking a photo of the sign indicating the section and row you are parked in. The app will surely help alleviate any late-night car searches, but in the meantime, it never hurts to make extra note of where you parked!

Along with the car locator tool, a number of other features are coming to the Disneyland Resort that have already been running at Walt Disney World. With both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure now running with Disney Genie (including Genie+ and Lightning Lane) one of the next steps will be adding MagicBand+ to the Resort, which is set to take place soon.

A new Alexa-style device created in collaboration with Amazon called Hey Disney will also be available in Guest rooms for those staying in Resorts on both coasts at a later date.

Disney has not yet confirmed the specific start date for the car locator tool to launch in the Disneyland app, but we will keep you updated as we know more here on Disney Tips.
