Disney’s Beloved Princess Animatronic Is Looking Rough In This Shocking Video

With four different theme parks full of stunning entertainment and beloved attractions, Walt Disney World is truly the Most Magical Place on Earth.

Many of these rides and attractions are based on our favorite movies, such as the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan’s Flight, and more. But the magic doesn’t stop there.

Guests not only delight in seeing their favorite characters while riding enchanting attractions, but they can also see them as face characters walking around each Disney Park and interacting with Guests. However, a critical difference between the animatronics seen on attractions and the face characters walking around Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, or EPCOT is that the animatronics don’t get to recharge the same way actors and actresses do.

While actors and actresses can rest and come back refreshed or move on to different roles once they start showing signs of aging, animatronics cannot. At the end of the day, the animatronics are simply machines, and while they are built to last a long time, everything shows its age eventually.

One of Magic Kingdom’s beloved dark rides has recently begun showing its age, and one Guest caught it on camera while visiting.

New Fantasyland is home to Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid, a slow-moving dark ride that takes Guests into the fathoms below and makes them part of Ariel’s world. In the ride’s scene where Ariel serenades Guests as they move past (singing the classic song, “Part of Your World”), the animatronic looks…a little worse for wear.

We’re not sure what exactly caused Ariel’s animatronic to malfunction and look so uncanny, but considering the ride is at least 10 years old, we can imagine that time is the culprit. Although Walt Disney World is the Most Magical Place on Earth, sometimes all the ‘magic’ an attraction needs is a little TLC and refurbishment!
