Luisa’s Donkeys Are Stealing the Show in Disney’s New ‘Encanto’ Performance

The Disney+ release of Encanto (2021) brought the hit Disney animated musical to fans everywhere, and the story and characters have only soared in popularity ever since. The film even surpassed Frozen (2013) when “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” topped musical charts ahead of “Let It Go.”

One of the most beloved songs in Encanto is “Surface Pressure,” which showcases fan-favorite character Luisa as she explains to Mirabel the pressure she is under as the oldest sibling in the Madrigal family.

In Disney’s newest live performance inspired by Encanto, Luisa’s musical number and more specifically, her donkeys, are stealing the show.

The latest Disney On Ice show celebrates two of Disney’s most successful animated films of all time, Encanto and Frozen. Where most past Disney On Ice productions have included numbers from several Disney movies in each show, the new performance focuses exclusively on these two films giving more time to some of the most popular characters of our time.

Alongside Luisa, the donkeys who were seen during “Surface Pressure” in the animated film have become stars of the Disney On Ice production for their hilarious dance moves.

@thatsunshinestategirl was able to attend one of the earliest shows before Disney On Ice: Frozen & Encanto sets out on its nationwide tour, and she shared a video you have to see of Luisa and her donkeys:

The donkeys’ performance makes for a hilarious addition to Luisa’s scene on ice, and we would love to see the show in person!

Other parts of Disney On Ice: Frozen & Encanto are also incredibly impressive (and not just for goofy dance moves). Mirabel and Isabela steal the show later on during a performance of “What Else Can I Do?” when the talented figure skaters take to the sky in a breathtaking aerial display:
