On the heels of the news of the passing of the Oscar-winning Pixar artist Ralph Eggleston, The Walt Disney Company has announced the loss of a Disney Legend today. It is being reported the talented Ron Logan passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 84 years old in Orlando, Florida.
@DisneyD23 took to social media to announce, “We are sorry to report that Disney Legend Ron Logan has passed away.”

Disney Legend Ron Logan was known for revolutionizing live entertainment for The Walt Disney Company, with many of his works still Disney fan-favorites today.
Ron actually began his career at Disneyland Resort as a trumpet player, where he had the opportunity to meet Walt Disney on several occasions. In 1978, Ron moved to Florida to become Walt Disney World Resort’s music director. He later returned to Disneyland in 1980 as the Park’s director of entertainment. Finally, in 1982 he ended up back at Walt Disney World Resort as vice president of entertainment.
In 1987, his exceptional talents led him to be promoted to vice president of creative show development for all of Walt Disney Attractions.

You likely have enjoyed several Disney Park entertainment shows and performances that Ron had his hand in creating. D23 shares:
“Ron picked up the baton of previous entertainment directors at Disney Parks, and under his leadership the parks’ entertainment offerings became true spectacles. He delighted Disney guests with fireworks, music spectaculars, and Broadway-style stage musicals, all within the gates of Disney Parks.”
“Ron was instrumental in the productions of Fantasmic! (Disneyland, 1992; Disney’s Hollywood Studios, 1998), Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! (Disney’s Hollywood Studios, 1989), Festival of the Lion King (Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, 1998), Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show (Disneyland Paris, 1992), and many more.”

In 2007, Ron was named a Disney Legend for his work with The Walt Disney Company. “It made it all worth it,” Ron said. “The respect that we get as Legends makes it feel like a knighthood. You feel really proud to wear this pin, and to put it along with everything else—it’s the pinnacle of indication that you did okay.”
We’re so thankful for Ron’s Walt Disney entertainment contributions to the Disney Parks, as they continue to live on for Guests to enjoy within the Parks today. Our thoughts are with the Logan family and friends as they go through this difficult time.
