The Mexico World Showcase Pavilion is undergoing a transformation decades in the making, with multiple updates altering the appearance and experience of this original EPCOT staple. As Walt Disney World Resort continues large-scale refurbishment efforts, guests visiting the pavilion are noticing significant changes to both its exterior and its beloved attraction, Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros.

Over the past several months, scaffolding has enveloped the towering pyramid of EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion as construction crews work to refresh the structure’s exterior. The refurbishment, which began earlier this year, has seen painting, repairs, and maintenance efforts aimed at preserving the pavilion’s iconic look while giving it a fresh update.

Recent images shared by WDWNT show scaffolding and themed scrims still in place on the pyramid, with a previously blocked-off walkway now reopened. However, an interior doorway remains inaccessible, with signage directing guests to alternate exits.

Disney has not made any official announcements regarding when the pavilion’s exterior work will be fully completed, but the visual updates suggest that the changes will be permanent.

Inside, the pavilion’s only attraction, the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros, has been closed for an extensive refurbishment since January. Walt Disney World Resort cast members began previews last week, and the ride reopened to all guests on March 15, 2025.

Across the lagoon, refurbishment work continues at the Canada Pavilion, where scaffolding and construction walls have been in place since 2023. The updates have focused on the Hotel du Canada facade, with a recent permit filing hinting at potential signage replacements.
