EPCOT’s Most Popular Restaurant Gets a New Addition for Its Anniversary

Walt Disney World’s EPCOT is in the midst of its multi-year transformation. While new milestones are being made every day in the Disney Park, EPCOT is celebrating its most popular restaurant, Space 220, which is officially one year old!

With the roll-out of EPCOT’s four neighborhoods, including World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature, and World Showcase, the neighborhood currently getting the most attention is World Discovery.

This portion of the Park includes oldies but goodies such as Test Track and Mission: SPACE. But, the newbies that have arrived are stealing the spotlight! Of course, the new roller coaster, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, is a highlight… but if you’re hungry, the best place to go is Space 220 Restaurant.

On September 20, 2021, Space 220, a restaurant that makes Guests feel like they are dining 220 miles above Earth, officially launched. In additional to exceptional food and beverages with both table-dining service and a lounge service, Space 220 has also been known for adding a new collectible item to the Disney Park circuit.

Move over Disney trading pins! Space 220 Restaurant has exceptional collectible trading cards that are unique in that they are only available at Space 220 and are ever-changing. For its first anniversary, Space 220 Restaurant has launched an update with a new series of collectible trading cards that we can’t wait to get our hands on!

The three new series, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars, are being given to Guests when they order any zero-proof (non-alcoholic) cocktail or children’s meal. The original three series – Earth, Venus, and Mercury – will be retired, as each series is a limited edition.

“We’re thrilled to launch our new Space 220 Collectible Trading Cards to commemorate the one year anniversary of our very popular, out-of-this-world eatery,” Patina Restaurant Group Marketing Director Kyle Collins said. “These cards help to spark an interest in space exploration in Guests of all ages, creating a sense of awe at the wonder of our solar system and beyond.”

Cards in a series may be categorized as Space Trivia, Food in Space Trivia, or Space Technology, with each series also including a rare Tech-Specs card, giving an inside look at specifications of current and future space technologies. These are stamped with a blue foil ink. A complete series contains six trading cards. 

If you’ve never dined at Space 220, Disney describes the dining experience as “A Stellar Adventure”:

Embark on the ultimate culinary exploration from this new expansion of the Mission: SPACE Pavilion.

Step inside Space 220 Restaurant—featuring a celestial panorama from a space station—for a delicious meal. To begin your journey, board a special space elevator that will ascend to the stars! Along the way, viewports will give you an aerial view of EPCOT as you travel high above the planet. As you dine, peer out and enjoy amazing daytime and nighttime views of Earth from 220 miles up.

Want to snag these Space 220 collector’s items before they are gone? Be sure to get dining reservations at either the restaurant or lounge portion of Space 220 Restaurant 60-days in advance, as reservations do fill up quickly.
