EPCOT is continuing its mysterious construction in the Canada World Showcase Pavilion. Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t publicly acknowledged the project, which began in June 2023.
Canada and Walt Disney World Resort have repeatedly made the same headlines in the last month as Canadians cancel their Disney Park vacations in droves. After President Donald Trump vowed to enact 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau encouraged his citizens to “Choose Canada” instead of spending their money in the United States.
More Northern neighbors canceled their Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort trips after Trudeau was caught on a hot mic saying Trump’s threats to annex Canada were very “real.”
“We canceled our 2 week trip – no way do we feel safe and no way are we supporting the horrible policies of the country,” one Canadian Disney Parks fan said.
As some Canadians avoid the Disney parks, Walt Disney World Resort remains tight-lipped about ongoing construction in the Canada World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT. Crews appear to be working in an unused space that once housed a luxury boutique called Le Boutiques des Provinces, which closed in the early 2000s.
Brown construction walls mysteriously appeared toward the back of the pavilion in June 2023, near the Trading Post merchandise location. They disappeared for a few months in 2024 but later returned to block guests from accessing the Hotel Du Canada facade. Earlier this month, scaffolding appeared around the facade as crews appeared to be installing a new awning on the unused building.
According to WDWNT, crews recently set up plywood walls near the awning construction site. One of the walls has a piece of paper attached to it, potentially concept art for the mystery project. The original brown construction walls remain near the Trading Post.
Ladders, trash bins, and other construction equipment are scattered around the blocked-off area. Near the new awnings is a mysterious gray structure covered with a blue tarp. Construction crews were spotted working in the area during theme park hours.
Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t publicly acknowledged this mysterious project in the Canada World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT. However, Disney filed a permit to “Install Signage” in the area earlier this year, suggesting that the area will be accessible to guests sometime in the future.

Trump is ruining so much that we stand for as Americans, and now he’s alienating our dear Canadian neighbors and friends. I LOVE the Canadian Pavilion at EPCOT, and the beautiful program of your gorgeous country. I have seen it so many times. Please know there are SO MANY Americans that are extremely upset by Trump’s actions. It is also embarrassing to so many of us…
stop being a traitor.Your wrog so many Americans are not upset with Trump only with Biden .Trump knows how to fix all these problems but it will take time. That Canadian is not good from what i hear from friends that live there .
I think respect for other countries, as equals, is fundamental to living on Planet Earth. Many citizens around the world see the US, and Trump in particular, as Geo-Centric – meaning we think we are the center of this planet. We are one of many. We can either make the best of it, or in Trump’s case, make the worst of it by disrespecting our global neighbors. President’s Trump’s actions do not represent the thoughts of all US citizens. To believe that all 333 million of us should think like Donald Trump is ridiculous.
