Disney is ready to celebrate the next generation of immersive storytelling. Walt Disney World’s Park, EPCOT, embodies the idea of everlasting growth. The name is actually an acronym that stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. Walt Disney’s dream was to create an environment like no other. His plans were to create this ideal place in Florida, where it could become a solution for problems in cities. “The central core would be the commercial center. Radiating out from it would be strips of residences, with vast green spaces in between for recreation, schools, and similar facilities,” D23 writes.
Although Walt Disney passed away before Walt Disney World ever opened, his visions still very much stay alive. EPCOT was a huge undertaking for The Walt Disney Company, costing nearly $1 billion. Although the land was never created into an experimental community, Future World and World Showcase emerged thanks to the hard work of Disney Imagineers. Since its opening in 1982, the theme Park has become one of the most unique experiences for Guests. With Walt’s ideas still at the core, EPCOT is a place where future ideas meet excitement and act as a creative center.

Reimagined EPCOT Merchandise
The new line of merchandise features a Woven Shirt and Fashion Top, along with a Loungefly Ear Headband, Dooney & Bourke Handle Tote Bag, and Spirit Jerseys. Many of the Park’s favorite characters appear in the new merchandise. “Remy inspires you to believe that anyone can cook, Groot and Star-Lord are bringing you along on an intergalactic adventure, and Olaf is ready to give you a warm hug,” Disney Parks Blog details.
The reimagined T-shirt pays homage to EPCOT attractions like Test Track, Mars from Mission: SPACE, and even your favorite World Showcase countries. The best part of the collection is, of course, saved for last: the Spaceship Earth Light Up Figurine! “This item lights up in an array of colors and features the EPCOT logo along with designs that reflect the four neighborhoods of the park, including World Celebration,” Disney Parks Blog writes.
This new line comes as Disney continues their “biggest transformation of any Disney Park in history” and is excited for Guests to watch it all unfold. You can sport the newest line as new imagination comes to life at EPCOT.
