First Look at Upcoming Disney+ Documentary ‘Mickey: The Story of a Mouse’

When you think of the Walt Disney Company, what’s the first movie you think of?

Maybe you think of one of the classics, like Cinderella (1950) or The Jungle Book (1967). Or maybe one of the movies from the Disney Renaissance, like Beauty and the Beast (1991) or The Little Mermaid (1989).

Even if you think of one of the newer films, such as a Toy Story or Frozen movie, chances are you’re thinking of a specific kind of movie with dazzling animation and fun songs to sing.

When you think of a Disney movie, you probably don’t think of a documentary. But that’s all about to change with the upcoming Disney original documentary, Mickey: The Story of a Mouse (2022).

Mickey: The Story of a Mouse is a documentary that attempts to answer the question we, as a culture, have been asking ourselves for years: why do we love Mickey Mouse so much? What is it about that friendly mouse that captivates us?

Of course, you could ask ten different people this very question, and you’d probably get ten different answers in return because Mickey means something unique to each of us.

Mickey: The Story of a Mouse seems to understand that, as the trailer (which was released earlier today) shows clips from a myriad of talking heads from a diverse group of people.

From The Mickey Mouse Club (1955-1996) to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (2006-present), the face of the Walt Disney Company has been entertaining us and our children for decades, and we still can’t get enough of him.

Maybe this Disney original documentary will give us more insight as to why!
