Complimentary transportation makes getting around the Walt Disney World Resort a breeze, but one Guest recently had quite an unsettling trip around the property when they discovered a dead animal onboard.

As far as transportation options go, the Disney Skyliner has already been the most controversial offering at the Resort. The system provides a convenient and unique style of transportation for Guests visiting EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and several Resorts (Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort, one of the newest hotels on property.
Despite the convenience and often enjoyable rides Guests have while onboard the gondolas, the Disney Skyliner has experienced several odd issues since opening in 2019. Ahead of the Skyliner’s opening, Guests learned that the system would not be air-conditioned, which immediately created a cause for concern for a system running in Central Florida. Thankfully, the lack of air conditioning has not often been an issue with the vents on each cabin, however, it can become hot onboard if the system is stopped for an extended period, which has prompted further concern when Guests see what is included in the Skyliner’s emergency kits. When going over past issues with the Skyliner, there have also been multiple instances of cabins colliding while arriving into the station, though this problem seems to have been long resolved.

The latest Disney Skyliner incident is disturbing, as Guest who rode the system recently came across a dead fish inside the cabin and shared the photo online. (Warning before you scroll as the following photo shared to Reddit shows the deceased animal.)
As for how the fish made its way onto the Skyliner…that is, well, inconclusive. At least publicly, no one has come forward admitting to putting a fish in the cabin, and it is difficult to imagine how it could have otherwise made it in there on its own. The cabins do pass over water, so it is possible that a bird scooped up a fish and dropped it through an opening, but we can’t be sure how exactly this happened.

Thankfully, this is not a common occurrence on the Disney Skyliner or any form of transportation at Walt Disney World (or anywhere, as far as we know….) but it does not make it any less disturbing.
You can always find information about the Skyliner’s routes and operating hours in the My Disney Experience app during your next Disney trip; Hopefully, your future rides on the Disney Skyliner will not be so eventful!
