Disney World has endured another tragedy on property. As previously reported, a man was pronounced dead at Disney’s Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Days later, there is more information on the incident.
Disney World is deemed one of the most magical places on earth. Of course, with such a hefty label comes accidents and unfortunate events. Nothing can ever truly be perfect, although we’d like to think so when it comes to the magic of Disney. On July 26, 2023, we reported the tragedy of a gentleman who had passed away after falling from a 5th-floor balcony. While some Guests and witnesses shared their stories, more official information has since been released.
According to Fox 35, “The Orange County Medical Examiner told FOX News the victim is identified as a 39-year-old man from Greendale, Wisconsin. He reportedly accidentally fell from a hotel room balcony.” The gentleman’s name was Jeffery Vanden Boom who was visiting the Park with this significant other, who has since spoken out. Furthermore, the Medical Examiner released that his death was due to “blunt force trauma in what has been ruled as an accidental fall from a hotel room balcony,” as reported by Fox News.
As the story has developed, the partner of Jeffery Vanden Boom has spoken out on Facebook. Carmen has detailed her gratitude for those who helped during this difficult time. Inside the Magic reported,
Carmen K said, “On Wednesday morning at bay lake tower, I lost the love of my life. The lady who hugged me on the 5th floor when they were moving me to a different room was an angel sent to save me. If you’re here, thank you, you were the first person to offer me comfort even though he was gone for over 4 hours and people were in and out of my room. The Resort’s manager was terrific, and when I saw the tent he was under kept me upright. The nurse who tried to provide CPR and bring him back to me is a saint. I know you couldn’t do anything, but you tried to bring him back to me. Your efforts didn’t go unnoticed. You are amazing. It was an accident. He would never have left me that way. *if anyone can get me in contact with the nurse who was jogging and saw him and tried to save him PLEASE pass on my appreciation and love.”
At this time, our thoughts go out to the family and friends affected by this incident.
