Hours Extended at All Four Walt Disney World Theme Parks This July

Walt Disney World Hours Extended

The summer crowds have arrived at Walt Disney World, and theme park hours are being adjusted accordingly. Park hours are now available through September 2, 2022 (which can be helpful for those planning an early “fall” trip while Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is taking place) but the latest update to the calendar came with longer hours across all four Disney Parks for this July.

The changes to July’s previously posted Park hours affect a number of dates throughout the month, with both morning and evening extensions, as well as early entry for Guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels.

The Magic Kingdom has pushed back park closing time from 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on a number of dates from July 5-30, 2022. Confirm hours on the date of your visit in the My Disney Experience app ahead of your visit, and note that theme park reservations are already sold out on July 4, 2022.

In EPCOT, opening hours from July 3-30, 2022 have moved from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Select attractions especially in World Showcase may open later, so be sure to confirm specific operating hours in the My Disney Experience app during your visit.

Morning hours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are also moving from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. from July 3-30, 2022. The earlier opening time will give Guests more time to experience popular attractions like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park will see extended evening hours to 8:00 p.m. (up from 7:00 p.m. as originally posted) from July 11-30, 2022.

Disney's Animal Kingdom

Note, if you are visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom when the Park has later hours in the evening, some attractions may still close earlier. Currently, Kilimanjaro Safaris closes at 7:45 p.m. on  8:00 p.m. closing days, so you will not be able to use our go-to tip of hopping in line for the attraction right before Park closing to avoid long lines earlier in the day.

Extended hours at Disney theme parks can often be indicative of increased crowds, especially with the current theme park reservation system giving the company data on attendance weeks and months in advance. If you are visiting this summer, though, we definitely recommend taking advantage of the updates to the calendar, especially in the mornings as this will give you more time to experience some of the most popular attractions.
