However, for seasoned regulars in search of variety, or first-time visitors looking for new and exciting ways to share their love of Disney, fan-run events can provide a singular experience not found anywhere else!

Such is the case for the fan-made fashion expo, Dapper Day. Operating for over ten years now, Dapper Day began as a social event organized by Justin J. and over the years, has blossomed into a huge phenomenon at both Disneylands in California and Paris, plus Walt Disney World in Florida.

As the official Dapper Day website describes it:
DAPPER DAY® is an organization that celebrates fun, refined style from yesterday and today. We’re best known for producing events that let you “step out in style” at museums, amusement parks, and other destinations… Our Disney events usually include a “DAPPER DAY Outing to the Parks,” plus other happenings outside the parks such as our DAPPER DAY Expo (in the Disneyland Hotel Exhibit Hall). Various additional events, parties, pop-ups, or seminars may be a part of our seasonal Disney outings, and change with each event. Although we work closely with Disney, the DAPPER DAY organization is not associated with, nor a part of, The Walt Disney Company.

Dapper Day celebrates all things refined, drawing inspiration from the pre-and mid-century styles populating the classic Disneyland photos and advertisements. Many attendees are also devotees of the vintage lifestyle, and use the event to showcase their every day or fanciest flair and network with like-minded others. However, over time the event has progressed into a sort of Disneybounding challenge to dream up an ensemble that is both elaborate and/or retro that pays homage to a beloved character, a real-life figure, or a Park staple.
