Whether visiting Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, or EPCOT, Walt Disney World Resort is full of unique attractions and experiences. Over in California, Disneyland Resort is home to Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.
But despite having more Disney Parks, there is one thing many Disney fans almost unanimously claim Disneyland is better at than Walt Disney World: character interactions.

Fans of Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort are always finding themselves in a friendly competition over which Park is better, which Park has better attractions, which Park is more worth visiting, et cetera, et cetera. However, many fans will openly admit that Disneyland Resort has better character interactions than Walt Disney World Resort.
@mickeyvisit In Walt Disney World they don’t do this – the characters just wander and perform. #disneyland #disneyworld
Take this video, for example. TikTok user @mickeyvisit captured a special moment between the Mad Hatter face character and a group of parents visiting the Disney Park. As we can see in the video, the Mad Hatter is up to his silly shenanigans as he conducts the parents with strollers.
This is a beautiful example of how character interactions can take Guests and make them feel as if they’re a part of the magic. The text in the video reads, “Only at Disneyland.”

The comments were full of this friendly competition but also full of some reasons as to why Disneyland Resort may have better character interactions.

One TikTok user playfully writes, “It’s because the characters would melt in the hot Florida weather.” Given how humid Central Florida is compared to Southern California, we certainly can’t argue with that!
Another TikTok user points out, “Disneyland is also in Southern California. So. Many. Actors. They truly have their choice of talent, and can hire the best of the best.”
Where do you stand on this friendly debate? Do you think character interactions are more magical at Disneyland than at Walt Disney World?
