These Characters Are Still Missing From the Magic Kingdom

The now “old days” of missing characters and only distanced character sightings are finally long behind us at the Walt Disney World Resort, with many favorite meet and greets already back at The Most Magical Place on Earth.

Character cavalcades, introduced during the pandemic, are sticking around along with the re-introduction of traditional meet and greets, as they have been embraced by fans who enjoy the surprise magical moments of seeing characters roll through the Parks.

With so many characters back at each of the four Disney Parks, one notable meet and greet experience (that was already announced to return) is still missing from the Magic Kingdom.

One of the most popular character experiences in the Magic Kingdom prior to the pandemic was Pete’s Silly Side Show in Storybook Circus. This location gave Guests the opportunity to meet Donald, Goofy, Daisy, and Minnie, all dressed up as different performers in the circus.

The characters are still featured in the Park, with all of them appearing in stage shows like Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire, the Festival of Fantasy Parade, and entertainment during special events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Mickey still has a traditional meet and greet at Town Square Theater on Main Street, U.S.A., where Minnie occasionally accompanies him, but she has not had a regular meet and greet since the Parks initially closed in 2020.

Earlier this year, Disney shared that the character meet and greets at Pete’s Silly Side Show would be returning, and the page for the character experience on Disney’s official website still notes that it is “returning soon.”

No reopening date is currently listed on Disney’s website or on the My Disney Experience app for the character meet and greets at Pete’s Silly Side Show, but we will continue to monitor any updates and report back with more information as we have it here on Disney Tips.

In the meantime, remember that Daisy and Donald have meet and greets in DinoLand, U.S.A. and Minnie’s current meet and greet is on Discovery Island with Mickey in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Goofy is greeting Guests in World Celebration in EPCOT, and all character experiences are listed in the My Disney Experience app.
