Is This Beloved Magic Kingdom Attraction Finally Returning?

What do you think of when you hear the phrase, ‘It’s a Christmas Miracle?’ Maybe you think of the heartwarming ending to a classic Christmas movie. Or perhaps it makes you think of waking up on Christmas morning to see that snow has created a winter wonderland outside.

For Disney fans, a Christmas miracle looks like the Walt Disney World Railroad, up and running tests again.

Magic Kingdom is full of iconic and classic attractions, such as the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, a thrilling chase exploring the Western wilderness and the mines deep in the Earth. Or Space Mountain, a science fiction exploration of the galaxy.

Haunted Mansion takes Guests on a tour through a spooky, whimsical mansion full of fun and fright alike. Splash Mountain takes Guests on an exciting plummet, making a splash in their log flumes.

But one of the most beloved attractions of all is the Walt Disney World Railroad, a calm journey that begins at Main Street, U.S.A., and takes Guests around the entire Park.

In 2018, the ride was temporarily closed so Disney World could construct the upcoming Tron Lightcycle Run roller coaster. Years later, Tron Lightcycle Run is still under construction and is scheduled to open in 2023.

But the Walt Disney World Railroad may be up and running soon! Disney has recently teased Guests about the attraction’s testing. Not only that, but one Guest even spotted the train ‘doing a practice run’ while walking to Magic Kingdom from Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
