TheĀ JurassicĀ films have always shaped how Universal Studios designs its parks. From the 1993 film-inspired log flume ride in Hollywood to the full-blown Jurassic World-themed land in Orlando, most attractions have leaned heavily on either the original 1993 classic or the 2015 reboot–there’s been no in between.
But with Universal Studios Great Britain now confirmed, and Jurassic World Rebirth on its way, that pattern might be about to change.
Universal Studios Great Britain will be the companyās newest resort, and speculation suggests it may include a Jurassic-themed area. But unlike other Universal parks, this one might finally break away from the familiar settings and create something differentāsomething built entirely around RebirthĀ instead of previous films’ aesthetics.
Releasing in July 2025, Jurassic World Rebirth is the seventh film in the franchise and marks a major tonal departure from past entries. Directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), the film follows Scarlett Johanssonās Zora Bennett as she and her team are sent to a forgotten island where InGen once experimented with dinosaur DNA.
But what they uncover isnāt just another pack of raptors or a loose T-Rex–the island is crawling with mutant creatures, including the grotesque Distortus Rex and the winged Mutadons, which are part raptor, part pterosaur.

These arenāt creatures weāve seen in any Universal park before. And thatās where the opportunity lies. Instead of re-creating Isla Nublar again, whether the 1993 park or the 2015 version, a JurassicĀ land in the UK could take its cues fromĀ Rebirth: a dense, hostile island setting, filled with dark laboratories, broken containment zones, and mutant dinosaurs.
The tone could be more intense, less nostalgic, and much more in line with the direction the franchise seems to be heading. IfĀ Jurassic World Rebirth ends up being the billion-dollar success everyone expects, then its world wonāt just live on in sequelsāit could be physically realized in Bedfordshire, UK.
Of course, Universal Studios Great Britain isn’t set to open until 2031, and Rebirth hits theaters this July, but if the film is anything like the original Jurassic Park (1993) and Jurassic World (2015), it will likely spawn a brand-new trilogy of films, which may coincide with the opening of the UK-based theme park resort.
