Universal’s dinosaur empire is in an unusual place. On one hand, Jurassic World Rebirth has been a commercial juggernaut, tearing through the summer box office with $865.6 million in global revenue. On the other hand, the film itself has proven one of the most polarizing chapters in the entire franchise.
Directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One) and starring Scarlett Johansson (Avengers: Endgame) as covert operative Zora Bennett, the movie doubles down on spectacle but repositions the franchise’s continuity in a way many longtime fans weren’t expecting.
Rather than building on Jurassic World Dominion’s story — dinosaurs thriving all around the world — Rebirth explains that the prehistoric creatures are gradually dying off because modern ecosystems suddenly can’t sustain them. It’s a jarring choice that undermines the huge possibilities teased in the previous installment and has sparked plenty of online debate.
Interestingly, it’s actually the animated side of the brand that seems more committed to Dominion’s vision. Netflix’s Jurassic World: Chaos Theory has already proven itself as more than just a kids’ spinoff. Across multiple seasons, the show has tied into the live-action canon, introduced exciting new dinosaurs, and even reintroduced characters from the films.
Now, the newly released teaser for Season 4 confirms that the “Nublar Six” will head into Biosyn Valley, a key location from Dominion, with another round of dino-filled action awaiting them. The season drops November 20 and will serve as the series’ conclusion:

The wider franchise doesn’t stop there, though. Frontier’s park-management sim returns in October with “Jurassic World Evolution 3”, expanding its sandbox to new locations like Japan and Hawaii. Meanwhile, Saber Interactive is developing “Jurassic Park: Survival”, a first-person action-adventure that promises a darker, more immersive dinosaur experience.
When Can I Watch Chaos Theory Season 4?
Chaos Theory stars Paul-Mikél Williams as Darius Bowman, Darren Barnet as Kenji Kon (previously portrayed by Ryan Potter), Sean Giambrone as Ben Pincus, Kausar Mohammed as Yasmina “Yaz” Fadoula, Raini Rodriguez as Sammy Gutierrez, and Kiersten Kelly as Brooklynn (voiced by Jenna Ortega in Camp Cretaceous seasons 1 — 5).
The final season premieres on Netflix on November 20.
