MagicBand+ is coming to Walt Disney World, and we are thrilled to have the details on what this all-new version of our favorite interactive accessory will include AND when you can expect to see it rolled out at Disney Parks and Resorts (it might be sooner than you think!)
MagicBand+ will come with all of the features Guests already know and love from Disney’s current version of the MagicBand, including entering theme parks and unlocking the door to your Disney Resort hotel room, saving your Disney PhotoPass photos, and more, along with lots of new exciting features that we can’t wait to try.
And, all of these new experiences will be available very soon for Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, with the new MagicBand+ officially launching with 25 exclusive designs on July 27, 2022.

The Disney Parks Blog shared everything that will be included in the new Disney MagicBand+ when it launches, with access to special features like the Disney Fab 50 Quest, the Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters experience, new interactive components to nighttime spectaculars, and more.
The Disney Fab 50 Character Collection, aka the statues located all around Walt Disney World theme parks as part of the Resort’s 50th anniversary will be one of the first exciting new additions to the MagicBand. During the Disney Fab 50 Quest, Guests will be able to use to their MagicBand+ to help Tinker Bell with new interactive ways to use some virtual pixie dust near these iconic sculptures.
“Disney Princess,” voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid (1989) Jodi Benson, recently experienced the Disney Fab 50 Quest and shared some exciting details of this new interactive experience:
During the Disney Fab 50 Quest, Guests will also be able to unlock some additional magic by using the Play Disney Parks app to collect sculptures and find new experiences with the app’s virtual reality feature.
Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters is sure to be the most exciting component of the MagicBand+ for Star Wars fans, as this allows them to even further immerse themselves into the world of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Guests participating in this experience will be able to seek out virtual bounties that are hidden in plain sight around Black Spire Outpost. As bounties are uncovered, the MagicBand+ can be used to find new paths and clues thanks to interactive elements like lights and vibrations that will take place on details in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
The Play Disney Parks app’s augmented reality feature will work alongside the MagicBand+ to show hidden secrets on Batuu that will help Guests get rewarded with galactic credits from Local guild master Raga Bua.

One of the most exciting features of MagicBand+ will be it’s ability to interact with Disney’s iconic nighttime spectaculars like never before. Guests wearing a MagicBand+ will find new ways to feel even more immersed in the magic of shows like Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom Park and Harmoniouis in EPCOT along with the Beacons of Magic that can be found on Cinderella Castle, Spaceship Earth, the Hollywood Tower Hotel (Tower of Terror) and the Tree of Life.
Ready to purchase your own MagicBand+? The new MagicBands will be available for Disney Resort hotel Guests to purchase prior to their arrival, and Annual Passholder discounts will be available. The MagicBand+ will also be available to purchase from the following locations at Disney Parks and Resorts for $34.99:

- EPCOT: Pin Traders – Camera Center
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Celebrity 5 & 10 and Tatooine Traders
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Discovery Trading Company

For Guests shopping from home, the MagicBand+ will also be available to order ahead of your next Walt Disney World vacation through shopDisney.
New features will continue to debut for MagicBand+ after its initialy release, and while we do not yet have a launch date for fans on the West Coast, Disney has confirmed that the Band will later be rolled out at the Disneyland Resort.
