What You’ll Need

  • PDF for templates from Disney Family
  • Scissors
  • Craft or scrapbook paper: 2 shades of orange, light brown or tan, and any other color you like to use for the headband (a gold patterned paper works well for this)
  • Brown markers (wide and fine tips)
  • Glue stick
  • Faux gems

Step One: First, fashion a headband by cutting two 3- by 12-inch strips from craft or scrapbook paper. Fold both strips in half lengthwise (so they are 1.5 inches wide) and glue them together, overlapping the ends a bit to create a single long band. Wrap the band around your child’s head to fit it, and mark where the ends overlap. Remove the headband and glue the ends together.

Step Two: Print the template and use the pieces as patterns to cut out the specified number and colors of pumpkin and acorn shapes.

Step Three: Assemble the large pumpkin and the two smaller pumpkins by first using the marker to color the stems brown, as shown.

Step Four: Then glue the pumpkin mid layers in place.

Step Five: Next, glue the top layers in place.

Step Six: Now use the wide-tip marker to color the bottom of each acorn dark brown. Then draw criss-cross lines on the acorn tops with the fine-tip marker.

Step Seven: Glue the pumpkins (with the larger one in the center) to the front of the headband. Add the acorns, positioning and tilting them as you like.

Step Eight: For a sparkly finish, embellish the crown with faux gems.

A crown for a princess this fall with pumpkins and acorns brings festive fun to the holiday this year.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
