Man on the Run for Over a Year Finally Caught at Walt Disney World

A fugitive from New York City was finally found visiting Walt Disney World after being on the run for over a year. What was he accused of? How was he caught? Who recognized him? We have all of the answers here.

Quashon Burton had been hiding from the authorities for over a year after being accused of stealing the identities of four other people at least, according to the New York Post.

With their stolen identities, the New York City fugitive took out government PPP loans (loans meant to aid struggling businesses during the pandemic). The New York Post reports that Quashon Burtonallegedly stole about $150,000 in forgivable federal loans.”

Jeff Andre, a federal postal inspector, was present at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom on October 20 when he saw the fugitive. Quashon Burton, who had been on the run for over a year, was recognized due to a tattoo of the letter ‘H’ written in cursive on his neck.

Burton was reportedly visiting the Disney Park with a false identity.

Jeff Andre called the Orange County Sheriff’s Office after recognizing the New York City fugitive, and Burton was confronted by the authorities a few hours later.

Quashon Burton has since been charged with resisting arrest and is now in federal custody, according to the New York Post.

Nobody at Walt Disney World was hurt, and Burton is being held in custody while awaiting his trial.
