Disney’s Minnie Van Service Just Got an Exciting New Upgrade

Getting around the Walt Disney World Resort is easy thanks to complimentary transportation between each Disney Resort, the theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs, with buses, boats, monorails, and the Disney Skyliner making up an impressive transit fleet.

For Guests looking for more direct transportation options, Disney’s Minnie Van service offers a private ride-share in style through a collaboration with Lyft. While often on the pricier side, Guests have been thrilled to have this service back in action after the pandemic, and Disney just shared that the vans themselves are getting a fun new upgrade.

Disney just announced via the Walt Disney World Cast and Community Facebook Page that Guests will soon be able to experience Mickey Mouse shorts during their trips around the Parks and Resorts!

The official announcement reads:

Hot dog! Rolling out in vehicles over the next couple of weeks, the award-winning animated shorts “Mickey Mouse” are being added to our Minnie Van Service Connected by Lyft. These timeless stories will bring out the inner child in your whole family, watching cartoons featuring Mickey and all of his pals! Guests can ask their Cast Member driver – like Carmen here! – to turn up the volume and turn up the fun while zipping around Walt Disney World.

The new shorts are an exciting addition to the service, but there is one aspect of Minnie Vans fans are still missing: Airport transfers. Arriving and departing the Orlando International Airport for a Walt Disney World vacation has become a bit of a process for Guests staying at Disney Resorts since the Magical Express Service was discontinued at the beginning of the year.

While replacements for Disney’s Magical Express have popped up, including one “official” replacement from Mears, and the elaborately themed Sunshine Flyer, some Guests are still hoping to see Minnie Vans go back to offering airport transfers, too, as they did prior to the 2020 shutdowns.

For now, we are looking forward to seeing our favorite Mouse during our next ride in a Minnie Van at Walt Disney World, and we will keep you posted here on Disney Tips if those airport transfers do return to the service. Safe travels!
