Missing EPCOT? These Songs Are a Must for Your Playlist!

Picture this – you’ve just entered EPCOT, and have your day planned.

First stop – Soarin’ Around The World and Living with the Land, then hop over to Test Track, and maybe fit in Spaceship Earth during the morning. Don’t forget to stop by Donald Duck and your pal, Mickey Mouse.

Come the afternoon, and you are going to explore World Showcase, eating and drinking your way around the World. You’ll finish your day off watching Harmonious in World Showcase. Sounds perfect, doesn’t it?

But there’s just one thing…you’re stuck at home, or have caught yourself daydreaming at work (thankfully, no one realized!). What’s worse is that your countdown to your next Disney vacation is still showing a three-digit figure, but you’re in desperate need of something to remind you of your favorite Disney Park.

It’s a good job that we have just the thing! Keep reading to find out the songs you need to add to your current Walt Disney World Resort playlist! Even better, create a new one just for all of those EPCOT songs that you can listen to, whenever you’re in need of a little reminder of the magic you experience when you’re right there!

The Obvious Tracks

To create the perfect EPCOT playlist, it’s only right that these tracks are part of it!

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth

The beautiful soundtrack that accompanied fireworks, water fountains, fire effects, and lasers every evening over World Showcase Lagoon to create a nighttime spectacular is a must.

The show ran for 20 years, beginning officially on October 1, 1999, and ending on September 30, 2019. Originally planned as a show that would form part of the Walt Disney World Millennium Celebration, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth was so successful that it continued to run for many more years. When listening to the soundtrack, see if you can identify the 8 different sections: acceleration; chaos; space; life; adventure; home; celebration; meaning.

I’m sure that this addition to your EPCOT playlist will bring all of the feels and emotions, similar to those you would experience if you were watching. If you’re anything like us, you’ll be able to ‘conduct the fireworks’ yourself, in time with the soundtrack!

Harmonious

If you have already viewed Harmonious and have fallen in love with EPCOT’s new nighttime spectacular, then you’ll certainly want the soundtrack, composed by Pinar Toprak, to be on your playlist.

If you are yet to see it, then you may want to hold out to avoid spoilers. Harmonious opened on October 1, 2021, as part of Walt Disney World’s Most Magical Celebration in honor of the 50th Anniversary.

The Harmonious soundtrack features artists including Kierra Sheard and vocalists including Ninet Tayeb. Inspired by global music, it also features your favorite Disney tracks in a style that you have never heard before.

Soarin’ – Jerry Goldsmith

An EPCOT visit is not complete without a ride on Soarin’. Of course, the attraction is now Soarin’ Around the World, which features a remastered soundtrack to the original attraction that opened in 2001.

Although the new soundtrack isn’t available on popular streaming sites, the original from Soarin’ Over California at Disney California Adventure Park is. Close your eyes and you‘ll be back on Soarin’ with Patrick!

World Celebration, World Nature & World Discovery

Previously known as Future World, the central plaza of EPCOT theme park sits beyond Spaceship Earth and leads you to World Showcase, now known as World Celebration.

World Nature includes the pavilions that were previously known as The Land and The Seas. World Discovery is where you will find attractions such as Mission: SPACE, Test Track, and the highly-anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Despite the changes that have been made to the front part of EPCOT, there are still so many songs that you can listen to, and visualize walking through the “old” Future World. Here are some of the songs that you’ll definitely want on your playlist, to take you back to that time when you would be walking towards the Fountain of Nations, before veering off to either the left or the right to your first ride of the day:

IllumiNations Pre Show

If you’re like us at Disney Tips, an evening watching IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth began when the music around World Showcase changed from the atmospheric background music played during the day, to the IllumiNations pre-show music.

This collection of music helped to build the excitement, playing more fast-paced music. Picture yourself wandering World Showcase, finding the perfect spot to enjoy the show from when listening to these songs:
