Although Florida is still recovering from the damages caused by September’s Hurricane Ian, the state isn’t out of the woods just yet.

The 2022 Atlantic hurricane season started in June. It won’t end until November 30, giving Florida and Walt Disney World plenty of reason to stay alert, especially when the National Hurricane Center made this statement:

…but also two more systems with potential to become the season’s next tropical depression or storm. One has the potential to threaten Florida. It would come from a large nontropical low pressure system that is expected to develop over the weekend in the northeastern Caribbean sea and southwestern Atlantic, but could find its way over the Bahamas and off the coast of Florida by next week.

Another storm could easily disrupt Walt Disney World operations, family vacations, and trips to Disney.

That being said, there’s no sense in blindly panicking. It’s important to remain calm, pay attention to the weather and news updates, and prepare for an upcoming storm just in case. Pack umbrellas, raincoats, ponchos, and appropriate shoes.

If you’re visiting Walt Disney World as soon as this weekend, you’re probably in the clear because the Weather Channel predicts a clear, rain-free weekend and Monday.
