With the release of more information around Disney Genie and Genie+, some Guests feel like their Disney World vacation is getting more and more expensive. It isn’t a surprise to anyone that a trip to Disney World isn’t going to be cheap, but there are still some free offerings for Guests when they are visiting Disney World. Take a look at these offerings so the next time you are in a theme Park, you too can experience even more magic for free while in Disney World.
Apps
My Disney Experience is a free app that is essential to a Disney World vacation. This app is where Guests can see wait times in a Theme Park, mobile order, find bathrooms, and so much more. Although parts of the app will have a fee connected to it in the future (Genie+), everything else is free for Guests to use. Those traveling to Disney World will want to make sure they download My Disney Experience before arriving at a Park. Using this free app is key to experience a Disney Park the best way possible. Play Disney Parks App is another free app. This app provides fun, interactive games that connect to the theme Park and the rides Guests are near. This is a fun way to entertain little ones while waiting in line at a Park. Guests should make sure they are using these free apps as much as possible as they truly help make a Disney vacation even more magical. Get trivia about Magic Kingdom or find the nearest bathroom in EPCOT. Either way, these two apps are a must for a day in a Disney Theme Park.
Transportation
One of the biggest advantages of a Disney World vacation is the free transportation that is provided for Guests throughout the Disney Resort. Guests can choose from various transportation options as they move around between a Theme Park and their Disney Resort. The Skyliner, monorail, boats, and buses are all free for Guests to use while on their Disney vacation. This free transportation can all be lifesavers after a long, hot day in the Theme Park. Being able to relax, have some air conditioning and not have to worry about how to get back to your Resort is a great free feature from Disney World.
Buttons
You might be thinking- buttons- but this is a fun, free gift that Disney provides Guests. If you are celebrating anything- birthday, girls trip, anniversary, or anything else, stop by the front desk of your Disney Resort or Guest services at a Theme Park to get a free button to help you celebrate. These are completely free and are a fantastic way to celebrate in the most magical place on Earth. It is fun to wear as Cast Members and other Guests will help you celebrate! No matter what brings you to Disney World, make sure you stop by and get a button to celebrate. You can even celebrate Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.
Resort Activities
At your Disney Resort there are a variety of activities that are free for Guests to participate in each day. There are fantastic games each afternoon at the main pool that are free for kids and adults to participate in and win prizes. In the evenings, check out the movie under the stars, where Guests can watch a favorite Disney film while relaxing on the Disney Resort lawn. Although it might not seem like a big deal, these free activities can bring some of the most fun memories during a Disney vacation.
Entertainment
We love that entertainment remains free and easily available at the Theme Park. The new cavalcade that Guests can see at all four theme parks is so much fun, and we love how we can catch them when it is convenient on our Park day. We are thrilled that live music, characters, and fireworks shows are back and all remain part of our Theme Park ticket. From the Dapper Dans on Main Street USA in Magic Kingdom to the music of Chakranadi, and Kora Tinga Tinga returning to the streets of Harambe in Africa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, entertainment continues to bring the magic to the Theme Park and we are thrilled it remains part of a Disney vacation.
Maps
Most Guests that visit a Theme Park don’t stop and get a Park map as they are available on the My Disney Experience App, but we encourage you to grab one. Disney World is changing so quickly that a map from your Disney vacation can be a great souvenir. We are excited that Disney continues to provide paper maps and aren’t charging for them like some places. Especially if you are going during the 50th Anniversary Celebration, you will want to snag these new Disney Theme Park maps.
First Aid
Disney’s first focus is the safety of Guests and Cast Members. With this goal and focus comes free first aid stations throughout all four theme parks and at Disney Springs. We are grateful that Disney provides these locations for free as we have used them numerous times on our Disney vacations. First aid services are often located by the Baby Stations, another free service. Disney provides Baby Care Stations at the theme parks to provide families a quiet, cool location to take care of their little ones. If you are traveling to Disney World, you will want to know where these are located in the Theme Park you are visiting. They can be a huge help during your visit to a Park.
Scavenger Hunts and Games
It is fun that Disney provides some free scavenger hunt games such as Wilderness Explorers at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Kids can learn about different animals in the Theme Park while earning badges along the way. If your kids like this time of exploring and learning, consider looking at your Disney Resort to see if they have a scavenger hunt or check out the Kidcot Fun Stations at EPCOT’s World Showcase. These are all fun, free options that Disney provides Guests during their Disney vacation.
Although a lot of money goes into a Disney vacation, we are thrilled that some offerings remain free. We are grateful that Disney provides free entertainment and safety measures to truly make sure each Guests can have the best Disney vacation ever. What free offering will you take advantage of during your next Disney World Vacation?
