The term “Disney Adults” has been the center of much debate among Disney fans recently. Some of the Disney fandom are all for Disney adults enjoying the Parks, while others are tired of their behavior. An old video of Walt Disney allows him to weigh in on the controversial topic from over 59 years ago.

Disney adults have been known for sharing posts on social media in a whole new light. From positive, uplifting stories of Disney adults spreading the magic to negative stories of Disney adults starting fights in the Parks, it’s been a wavering argument of what’s a Disney adult’s place in the Disney bubble.
An old video from the 60s has surfaced, showing Walter Elias Disney himself discussing Disney adults, which he charmingly calls “Oldsters.”
@donaldclarence took to social media to post a rare video of Disney history with Walt Disney discussing Disney adults in 1963. Check out the video below:

That’s right – in the early days of Disney history, Disney Park Guests consisted of 4 adults to every child, including teenagers in that adult ratio. Walt also notes that these “oldsters” fill the parks during the winter months, throughout the week by riding rides and having fun.
The comments to the post love the fact that Walt called Disney adults “oldsters,” noting, “Please only refer to me as a Disney Oldster now.”; “Disneyland was made for EVERYONE! Thank you for sharing this!”; and “I need an Oldster T-Shirt!!!!”

It clearly shows that people of all ages are welcome to enjoy the Disney theme parks throughout Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. Of course, with the good Disney adults come the not-so-pixie-dust-filled Disney adults that attempt to ruin the “Oldsters” reputation. But, we Disney adults can’t let a few bad apples ruin the magical moments.
“Disney Oldsters,” keep enjoying the theme park magic as Walt intended!
