Between Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT, nobody can deny that the most classic attractions in Walt Disney World are located in Magic Kingdom.

Traveling around the Disney Park, Guests can find classic attractions such as the Pirates of the Caribbean in Adventureland, the Haunted Mansion in Liberty Square, and “it’s a small world” Fantasyland. But undeniably, three of the most iconic and recognizable Magic Kingdom attractions are the three mountains.

Over in Frontierland lies two iconic classic attractions: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain. By now, it may be considered old news that Splash Mountain will take a final dive on January 23, 2023. After that, this classic attraction will close its doors forever and open as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in the following year.

Earlier today, we found out that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will also be taking a quick reprieve in the new year. From January 9 through 13, the classic Frontierland attraction will be undergoing refurbishment. Although a five-day refurbishment doesn’t sound like a long time, it does mean that thousands of Guests will be unable to experience this ride in that time period.

Out of all three mountains in Magic Kingdom, that only leaves one that’ll be open all month long: Tomorrowland’s Space Mountain.
If you’re visiting Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom this upcoming January, Space Mountain is your best bet for out-of-this-world thrills!
It’s important to note that although we can assume Space Mountain will be open all month long, anything could change between now and the month of January, and the attraction could close with little notice.
