Disney Has Just Announced When This Classic Frontierland Attraction Will Make a Final Splash

Disney’s decision to rebrand the classic Magic Kingdom attraction Splash Mountain due to cultural insensitivity issues has been met with excitement and obstinance alike.

Fans of the classic attraction don’t want to see it changed forever, but fans of the hit film The Princess and the Frog (2009) are thrilled to see an attraction featuring their favorite Disney princess.

In the upcoming attraction, Guests will join Princess Tiana and her alligator friend (and trumpet prodigy) Louis as they “prepare to host a one-of-a-kind celebration for the people of New Orleans,” says Disney. The ride will take place after the events of the beloved film.

Although we don’t know the inciting incident or the reason for the drop, we do know what the plunge into the bayou will look like. According to Disney, this concept art “is the thrilling moment you first drop into the bayou and encounter some friends both new and familiar.

One of the most exciting and immersive parts of this upcoming Disney World attraction is the inclusion of zydeco music during the ride’s finale. According to Disney, “zydeco is a special blend of rhythm and blues that was born in Louisiana, and when you hear it, you’ll feel like you’ve truly stepped into Tiana’s world.

We can’t wait to see what Walt Disney Imagineering has in store for Magic Kingdom’s upcoming addition!
