With so much to do and see this year across Disney Parks, many Guests will want to take advantage of Park Hopping perks offered with select tickets for the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
Park Hopping refers to the practice of visiting multiple Disney theme parks within the same day, either in sequential order or going back and forth to experience specific performances, dining locations, attractions, etc., rather than completing the whole Park before moving on. In fact, Disney specifically offers Park Hopper tickets for this purpose, which allow same-day entry to multiple Disney Parks.

Typically, these tickets are harder to get and more expensive than the One-Day One-Park tickets, which limit Guests to accessing one theme Park per day of their visit before moving on to the second gate. As a result, the restrictions placed on the time frame in which visitors to a Disney Resort can hop can be frustrating, especially when there are different hours of operation across Parks or select times when certain experiences are accessible, on top of the Park reservation complications.
For instance, at the Disneyland Resort in Southern California, Disney California Adventure Park closes earlier than Disneyland Park, requiring Park Hopper Guests to prioritize experiences there. However, morning is the best time to enjoy popular Disneyland attractions, such as Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, or the all-new Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Toontown, before LightningLanes sell out and wait times become incredibly long.

Luckily, Disney Parks Blog has just announced a fantastic update to the Disneyland Resort’s Park Hopper hours! First, Disneyland will extend Park Hopping hours for Guests from the previous 1 p.m. start times to as early as 11 a.m. each day.
Secondly, not only can Guests with a Disney Park Hopper ticket begin to cross over two hours earlier than before, but the new extension will also apply to “Guests who enter a Disneyland Resort theme park with a Magic Key pass.” The new Disneyland Park Hopping hours go into effect on February 4, 2023, giving visitors the perfect boost for vacations to enjoy the Disney 100 Years of Wonder Celebration this January, the Lunar New Year, and the re-opening of Mickey’s Toontown in March!
