The time has almost come to say goodbye to Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland Park, which will be closing this summer.

Over the last several decades, theme parks have only become more advanced and impressive. This is true across the board, with both Universal Studios and Disney developing some of the highest-quality entertainment the world has ever seen. However, it’s hard to beat the classics, and there may not be a more classic ride than Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean.

Pirates of the Caribbean opened in 1967 at the original Disneyland Resort, changing the world of the parks forever. While some may consider Pirates of the Caribbean as a ride to be corny or dated, it’s hard to deny just how incredible and influential it was for the amusement park industry, and it still remains an impressive feat of design and engineering.

The ride features dozens of animatronics as well as stunning physical sets and amazing practical effects. In 2024, there are certainly more modern and technologically advanced attractions at the Disney parks, such as TRON Lightcycle / Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, but Pirates of the Caribbean has an undeniable charm that draws guests in day after day.

Unfortunately, as is the case with every theme park destination, rides and attractions must close from time to time to ensure the overall safety of riders and the attraction itself, with Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland Park in Paris being the next victim. The ride will be closing for refurbishment on June 3 and will not reopen until June 21, 2024.

This is confirmed by the ride’s official page on Disneyland Paris’ website.

The attraction can be found at Disneyland Park in Disneyland Paris, one of the several international Disney destinations scattered across the globe. While it may be thousands of miles away, Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland Paris retains the original spirit of the ride, offering guests a very similar experience to what can be found at Disneyland in California.

As we mentioned earlier, Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the world’s most celebrated theme park attractions of all time and is located all across the world. Guests can experience this iconic Disney dark ride at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disney, and Shanghai Disneyland.

About Luke Dammann

When at Disney world, Luke will probably be found eating with his favorite animatronic, Sonny Eclipse at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. When not at Disney World, Luke will probably be found defending Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe to people who claim "there are better restaurants"
