If you have been to Disney Springs, you have most likely seen Chef art Smith’s Homecomin’. This restaurant opened in 2016 and has been one of the most popular dining options at Disney Springs. Delicious Southern favorites like fried chicken, shrimp and grits, fried catfish, and hummingbird cake are available.
Chef Art Smith is a former Cast Member and considers Central Florida his home. He named it Homecomin’ because it felt like he was coming home.
This restaurant is often booked weeks out, but sometimes Guests are lucky to be able to grab a walk in spot. This restaurant was also voted best Southern Restaurant by Orlando Magazine. It is talked about all over and is not what some people call theme Park food.

Chef Art Smith was excited to announce the opening of a second restaurant in the Central Florida area, but this time at the Orlando International Airport. He shared this will be called Sunshine Diner and said on Facebook:
“Very excited to announce our first airport restaurant at Orlando International Airport,it’s taken many years but finally people from all over the world will get to taste us. Opening this summer 2022. Don’t expect anything like our other restaurants it will be unique and part of my dream to revitalize the great American diner. XOArt #SunshineDiner#ChefArtSmith”
It is said that Sunshine Diner will be opened this summer and will be located in the airport’s brand new Terminal C, which will not be open until July.
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ at Disney Springs
You can reserve your spot up to 60 days in advance at Disney Springs, so if you want to go while you’re on your Walt Disney World vacation, make sure to do that in advance to secure your spot. Soon you’ll be able to have this delicious dining option while on vacation and while you’re waiting at the airport to head back home.
