Disney dining is amazing. Even the quick-service options that Disney World offer to their guests are above par with the competition and what you would expect to have for dining in a theme park environment. There are many meals that are so beyond expectations that you just have to experience them for yourself to understand why so many go crazy to get their desired reservations and times so that they can enjoy their favorites. Here is a list of the 5 meals that I truly believe are the best that money can buy at Walt Disney World to help get you started:

5. Teppan Edo (Epcot – Japan Pavilion)

If you are a fan of hibachi, you will definitely agree with the placement of this restaurant on the list. The hibachi here is amazing and the service is impeccable. Your meal is prepared fresh in front of you, with a fun show that incorporates a little bit of Disney magic. You can also order sushi to accompany your meal, and the desserts are also quite delicious. We recommend the steak here, and you can have it prepared any way that you like.

You will be addicted to the Yum-Yum sauce (which your chef will also call Japanese Ranch). It is delicious on EVERYTHING! You definitely won’t leave this meal hungry. The food is AMAZING and after dinner you have a great vantage point for Illuminations. If you haven’t tried this one, it is a must do. This is one that whole family will enjoy time and time again. We still visit every trip, and have even gone twice in the same trip.

4. Be Our Guest (Magic Kingdom – New Fantasyland)

This restaurant is still extremely difficult to get a reservation for, and it is easy to see why. The steak at this location is one of the best on property. (Yes, I said it, and the servers will let you know how the steak ranks, too!) If you are feeling pretty hungry, definitely get the meat/cheese sampler. It is absolutely amazing and really great starter for the family. Even our young boys really enjoy sampling the different items on the platter.

After your meal, make sure that you get dessert from the dessert cart. Your server will add a little bit of extra “dressings” to the plate to make it even more magical and a great ending to your meal. The food here really is worth the trip and it is an absolutely delicious meal, but I also can’t write this without at least mentioning the dining room. There are three different dining rooms at the restaurant and all are equally amazing, and bring the Beast’s castle to life from the beloved feature animation. With great food and a great atmosphere, this one is a winner!

3. Le Cellier (Epcot – Canada Pavilion)

You may start to notice by now that my family enjoys a good steak. If you are steak fans like us, then this is another amazing meal that you must try. The steaks here are definitely among the best steaks on property. I also can’t get enough of the cheddar cheese soup as an appetizer. I usually get the Le Cellier Filet Mignon and my husband is a big fan of the Angus New York Strip. I’d say that you won’t go wrong either way! I am a chocoholic, so I have to save room to have the Smoking Chocolate Mousse to end the meal. The atmosphere is this location is extremely romantic with all of the candles and the feel of dining in a wine cellar. They do have an extremely nice wine selection, so if you are wine fans, make sure to check out the wines and add that to your meal. Leave the guilt at home. You’ll be doing so much walking that you will walk it off!

2. Ohana (Polynesian Village Resort)

I don’t even think that I can say enough good things about Ohana (for breakfast and dinner)! I will focus on dinner for this list, but just know that the breakfast at Ohana is amazing, too and should be part of your plans for your next trip. Dinner at Ohana is served family-style from your table. It is an all-you-care-to-enjoy meal with a set menu and price. You are treated like family from the moment you walk in. You are brought pot stickers and wings to start. Both are amazing, and they will bring you more of anything that you want. Just remember that there is a dinner coming! They will also bring out a fresh salad that tastes amazing. After the appetizers and salad, they will bring you noodles and vegetables, sauces and start bringing around skewers of different meats to the table.

The meats are served Brazilian style, and you will be able to select the amount of each type of meat that you want to try (don’t worry, they will also come back around and bring you more). Now, one thing that you have to know going into the meal is that you MUST be sure to save room for dessert. Skip lunch if you have to and minimize the snacking so that you will make sure to have room for dessert! This is seriously one of the best desserts on property. They bring out a delicious bread pudding with fresh vanilla bean ice cream on top. On the side is a cup of warm caramel with bananas in it to pour over the top of the dessert and enjoy. Words don’t do the dessert justice, you just have to try this one for yourself. Not only are the meal and service amazing, you have a great view of Cinderella Castle and if you time your reservation right, you can get a nice view of Happily Ever After (and they pipe in the music)! Don’t miss this one on your next trip!

1. Victoria & Albert’s – Chef’s Table (Grand Floridian Resort & Spa)

If you would like to enjoy the most expensive meal on property, have a little extra money in your budget or just feel like a romantic date night, then you must consider this for your next trip. Dining at the Chef’s Table is a true first class dining experience. You will get to chat with the chef so that they can get a good idea of what you like or really dislike, so they can prepare you a custom meal that will spoil you to any other dining experience you could ever have. You will get to feast upon 10 courses of world renowned dining from the kitchen of a first class chef. The menu changes daily since the meals are tailored to the guests that the chef is cooking for, and you do get a copy of the menu as a keepsake to commemorate the experience. The atmosphere is amazing, and there is a dress code to preserve the ambiance. You will be expected to dress formally for the meal to adhere to the strict dress code. You can also expect to pay $250+ per person for the meal, and $350+ per person if you want the wine pairings with the meal. It is pricey, but definitely worth the experience. Just a fair warning, once you go one time, you will absolutely be spoiled and want to go back!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
